Software

the following is a list of the applications and software packages available on the SGI Origin 2000 server.

Please note that all the software on the system are on academic licenses and are solely for the use of employees of the university, or students at the university. They are to be use solely for research work related to university projects, and not consultancy projects.

ABAQUS

A suite of general-purpose, nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) programs for mechanical, structural, civil, biomedical, and related engineering applications.

ADAMS®

A suite of design software for mechanical system simulation. Employing a graphical user interface and libraries of components, joints, and forces, ADAMS enables designers and engineers to model 3-D mechanical systems as "virtual prototypes". ADAMS automatically outputs displacements, velocities, accelerations, and reaction forces. Simulation results can be displayed as realistic animation or x-y plots.

ADAMS simulations are used to evaluate mechanical system performance, range of motion, collision detection, space claims, peak loads, and to calculate FEA load inputs. Two-way interfaces are supported between ADAMS and most CAD, FEA, and controls design packages.

ANSYS®

The ANSYS® program provides design engineers and analysts with a full-range of engineering analysis capabilities, including linear and nonlinear structural, buckling, kinematics, thermal, electromagnetic, fluid flow, acoustic, piezoelectric and coupled-field analyses. This wide range of capabilities makes the program ideal for concurrent engineering. Functions comprise solid modeling, preprocessing, adaptive meshing, analysis, post-processing and design optimization.

This computer-aided engineering software integrates the design and analysis functions of the product development cycles for superior product design, early product verification and faster times to market.

Ensight™

Ensight™ is a advanced software tool for the interactive visualization and animation of results data from a wide variety of finite element modeling applications in fields such as CFD, combustion modeling, injection molding simulation, and structural deformation.

Ensight enables one to read in and work with up to eight different computational or experimental datasets for comparative purposes. The graphical user interface makes the powerful capabilities to be accessed intuitively and easily.

Fluent CFD Suite

Fluent is a general purpose computer program for modeling fluid flow, heat transfer, and chemical reaction. It enable user to apply computer simulation methods to analyze and solve practical design problems.

HyperMesh®

HyperMesh® is a high performance finite element pre- and post-processing system that enables engineers to quickly and efficiently create finite element and finite difference models for engineering simulation and analysis. Advanced post-processing tools ensure complex simulations are readily visualized and understood. HyperMesh allows engineers to develop, compare, and contrast many design conditions in a highly interactive and visual environment, providing superior and faster understanding of predicted design performance.

Tecplot

Tools for visualizing a wide range of technical data. It offers X-Y plot in a variety of formats, and 3-D volumetric visualization, all in an easy to use graphical user interface.

LSDYNA

LSYDYNA was developed specially for nonlinear analysis, to solve impact related problems. It is used by engineers and scientists to analyze large deformation response of inelastic solids and structures in a number of industries including automotive, aerospace, metal manufacturing, plastics, and defense.

The program is available together with a pre and post processor and provides the most technically advanced while easy to use software application in the area of dynamic analysis. Interface to other pre and post processors and mesh generators have enabled users to quickly and efficiently solve problems based on data generated by other programs.

LUSAS

Lusas is a general purpose finite element analysis system which incorporates facilities for:
