Product Design & Realisation Strategic Research

Program Director: A/P Tor Shu Beng

The Programme aims to promote quality research and to develop productivity tools (both hardware and software) that speed up the process of product design and realisation. The outcome of the research is expected to be a physical prototype, a patent or a piece of software/methodology that can assist the designer/ engineer/manufacturer achieve higher value, quality and productivity. This Programme works closely with the Virtual Reality & Soft Computing Strategic Research Programme. Currently, the two Programmes have accumulated more than $11 million in research grants. These projects are undertaken in collaboration with industrial partners like the National Computer Board, Gintic Institute of Manufacturing Technology, Unigraphics Solutions Pte.
